Find the best Braunton walks. The Ramblers Association now have a greatly improved website which is an exceptional resource for all walkers, hikers and young families wanting to go for walks with young children. This site lists everything from historical walks to leader led walks to any really arduous walks within the Braunton area.

Find A Walk Near Me by Walking Britain is a truly excellent and free resource. Just enter where you are or where you would like to walk - and print out directions. The walks are graded and you can buy a specific map of the area at the same time. These are proper OS maps and weather proofed if required.

I always think of walking as one of the few activities you can do for free - and now you can with this guide!

Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!

Camping and Caravaning

Pure Camping

Goulds farm, Braunton EX33 1HT, UK – 07909 179117

Look it's really, really pure, in that conditions are very basic (and fairly cheap). Shower cubicle is okay but the lights will go off and plunge you into darkness, another small hut has a microwave and some utensils. We shivered in the largest caravan and several light switches didn't work (all the caravans were probably new when Churchill was in power), a thunderstorm battered us but we stayed dry(ish). Good nearby surfing locations and walks, friendly owner, recommended for hardy couples or the very adventurous, 3 nights max.

Basic, but beautiful. Toilets and hot showers. Quiet field to camp in with woods to explore and a little stream. Very helpful owner.

Fairlinch Camping

Saunton Rd, Braunton EX33 1EB, UK – 07969 080873

Probably been my favourite camping experience in North Devon so far! Usually go other places but stumbled across this one and it's been a lovely place to stay with mates while being really close (2 min drive in the car) to the beach which is a bonus. Price is good, not pricey like other locations, facilities cleaned daily and there was plenty of space to pitch up without getting in other people's hair. Definitely looking at staying here again next year

Fantastic place. my kids love running around the big field and the camp fire .....we are already booked for this july and august

Lobb Fields Caravan and Camping Park

Saunton Road, Braunton EX33 1HG, UK – 01271 812090

Well run family friendly campsite. Exceptional food served by Andy at the on site Hideaway Cafe makes this campsite special - the Yakisoba Noodles were fantastic. Lovely beaches with great surf. Minor downside is that it is not possible to walk to the beach (busy narrow road no footpath) but that is nitpicking. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful views and a great location, quiet site and the staff are so helpful. Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Within walking distance of Braunton and a short drive to Saunton and Croyde. We have stayed here a few times and would highly recommend it.
